A car’s engine is extremely complex. Although your engine is tough and built to last, parts will eventually wear out or get damaged. If your car develops engine problems, your Ford dealer has the trained technicians, parts, and technology to repair them for you. These are a few potential problems that we can fix.

Coolant Leaks

Coolant is one of the most important liquids in your engine, as it helps to regulate engine temperature. This liquid is a mixture of antifreeze and water, and it can absorb heat. When your engine reaches a pre-set temperature, coolant is released and pumped through the engine. As the coolant passes over hot components, it absorbs the heat. This heat is then transported to the radiator for removal.

As time passes, the heat and high pressure can cause wear in the system, and a leak can develop. Coolant can leak from several places, including worn seals, a hole caused by metal fatigue, or a damaged radiator cap. We can fix this problem by tracing the leak and sealing it.

Worn Spark Plugs

Spark Plugs are the ignition source for the fuel-air mixture in the engine cylinders. Fuel and air mix in a precise ratio in the intake manifold. The mixture is then drawn into the cylinders. The fuel-air mixture in a cylinder is tightly compressed as the piston moves toward to top of the cylinder. When the mixture is fully compressed, its ignited by the spark plug to produce combustion.

Plugs age and can become damaged by other problems like a fuel-rich engine. Old or damaged spark plugs won’t ignite correctly, and this can result in a misfire in the affected cylinder or stalling if more than one plug is affected. Our technicians will examine and test the plugs, and we can swiftly replace any that are worn or damaged.

Starting Problems

There are several possible causes for a starting problem, including a weak battery, a failing alternator, or a damaged starter motor. All three of these components must work together for your engine to start. You can narrow down the problem by listening for a slight click when you press the start button. If you hear a click, the starter is working but not receiving power.

The battery provides the initial charge that starts your engine. This charge uses a large part of the battery’s electricity reserves, and the battery depends on the alternator to recharge it. If you have a failing alternator, it may not be recharging the battery sufficiently. We’ll need to examine your engine to identify the cause of the problem and then we’ll repair it.
